Construction is the business area of Nature Energy which, after an internal investment decision, is responsible for the implementation of all construction activities – from the investment decision until handing over the completed and commissioned biogas plant to Operation.
Construction is Nature Energy's internal global general contractor and is responsible for all construction activities across all geographic markets in which Nature Energy is active.
Construction is thus responsible for planning, tendering, contracting subcontractors, project and construction site management, execution, and commissioning of all internal project development projects in Nature Energy, from the first sod to the handover of the turnkey biogas plant to our local country-specific operating organizations.
The Construction business area is divided into 4 departments, Project Execution Europe, Project Execution North America, Minor Projects, and Project Support.
Project Execution Europe:
Project Execution Europe is responsible for the planning, execution, and commissioning of all our complete new biogas plants in Denmark as well as across all countries in Europe where we have activities.
The biogas plants are built as an internal turnkey contract with a typical contract sum of DKK 400-800 million. DKK per biogas plant. Our biogas projects are typically managed by a project team of 3-5 people, consisting of project managers, construction managers, and commissioning operators, and typically with a construction time of 18-24 months.
Project Execution Europe currently has employees in France, the Netherlands, and Denmark.
Project Execution North America
Project Execution North America is responsible for the planning, execution, and commissioning of all our complete new biogas plants across all states in the US as well as all provinces in Canada.
The biogas plants are built as an internal turnkey contract with a typical contract sum of DKK 400-800 million. DKK per biogas plant. Our biogas projects are typically managed by a project team of 3-5 people, consisting of project managers, construction managers, and commissioning operators, and typically with a construction time of 18-24 months.
Project Execution currently has employees in Minnesota in the USA and the province of Quebec in Canada
Minor Projects
Minor Projects is responsible for planning, execution, and commissioning of the many development projects that are not complete biogas plants – typically expansion or major conversions of existing biogas plants with a typical contract sum of up to DKK 50 million. DKK.
The projects are typically carried out at existing biogas plants in operation and are thus carried out in close cooperation with the local operating organization.
Minor Projects is also responsible for the planning, execution, and commissioning of our many technical development projects as soon as they reach a maturity level where they are to be implemented on our existing biogas plants

Project Support
Project Support, unlike the rest of Construction, is not a project execution department. Projects Support is a global support department that works closely with our project development departments in all markets as well as our research and development department.
Project Support is responsible for all technical clarification in the project development phase before investment decision, including land acquisition for upcoming projects, obtaining all environmental and project approvals in collaboration with local consultants, clarification of technical and regulatory restrictions when designating new project locations, preparation of project execution in collaboration with the rest of Construction and clarification of country- or region-specific compliance requirements across Europe and North America.
Project Support is involved in our projects from the early project development phase right up to the handover of the finished facility to the local country-based operating organization and is responsible for the inter-organizational coordination between the business areas Business Development, Engineering, Construction, and Operation.
Project Support currently has employees in Denmark, the Netherlands, France, Minnesota in the USA, and in the province of Quebec in Canada.
