Working at one of our biogas plants
Working at a biogas plant is versatile
Our biogas plants are the hub of our purpose, where we are turning waste into value. At our biogas plants, we keep the gathered biomasses from our local partners and turn the biomasses into gas which is afterward distributed on the gas grid.
Operating a biogas plant requires many different roles and responsibilities, as well as competent people eager to get their hands dirty, work together, and get things done in timely actions.
Biogas plants are complex, and therefore, the days and tasks are versatile and diverse, and most days consist of a mix of office work and hands-on projects to ensure that the plant runs smoothly and reaches the desired amount of gas production every day.
A common denominator for a good day, regardless of the tasks, is the shared community and mutual dependence present both in meeting challenges and during plant breaks. We emphasize time for feedback, knowledge sharing, and good social cohesion to ensure that our employees feel good, even in an unpredictable daily.
Explore the various roles
On a standard biogas plant, the operating staff consists of one Plant Manager, an Assistant Plant Manager, 4 Plant Assistants, and 8 Drivers.
The Plant Managers have the overall responsibility of the plants in terms of safety, finances, the well-being of their employees, and the environment. The Plant Manager is responsible for ensuring that the plant produces the budgeted amount of gas while ensuring compliance with rules and safety.
The Assistant Plant Manager will take over the daily management if the Plant Manager is absent. They are part of the day-to-day operation, from administrative work in the office building to maintenance, plant optimization, and biogas production.
The Plant Assistants operate the plant by ensuring that the plants produce gas smoothly and efficiently while maintaining the plant facilities. Tasks include but are not limited to detecting and changing mechanical and electrical parts, repairs and adjustments, regulations, and plant surveillance. In short – ensuring the optimal and smooth operation of the plant to ensure proper biogas production.
Our Drivers transport many tons of biomasses back and forth between the Plants and stakeholders, ensuring that the plant receives the biomass needed for production and that the waste product is distributed to the farmers to use as manure.
Our operating staff shares a mutual dependency on each other to run the biogas plants smoothly. Likewise, the local community and Nature Energy share a mutual dependence on the need for gathering organic waste, which will be returned as gas for private households and businesses.
