Leading Nature Energy’s Electrical Engineering Department for Biogas Plant Expansion
As the Electrical Engineer Manager you will have the overall responsibility for the Electrical Engineering department which consists of around 18 people with diverse electrical and automation competencies and who work closely with the teams in charge of the project planning and design of our new biogas plants in Europe. Your main focus will be to support the projects with the support of the needed electrical competencies, developing the team and optimizing the working processes and contributing to improvements in the project delivery model.
The Electrical Engineering department performs the full detailed design activities for our projects including, but not limited to:
- Electrical component sizing, electrical panel drawings, cable calculations and designs for earthing, lightning and ATEX zones
- Design and specification for the OT network, PLC programming, SCADA programming and design and test of interfaces to external suppliers.
In addition to the design activities, your team is also engaged directly in the project execution team, coordinating design tasks with other engineering disciplines and providing support to the contractors and Nature Energy’s own Construction department during the execution phase. During the test and commissioning phase, we also have resources on-site to perform the cold test on all systems.
You will be a part of a team with high engagement and strong competencies. You will also join a professional organization with an entrepreneurial mindset that has great ambitions. Your main tasks and responsibilities as the Electrical Engineering Manager will include:
- Grow and develop the Electrical Engineering team to ensure the right capabilities for the continuing improvement of Nature Energy
- Resource planning for electrical and automation tasks on new build projects, modifications to existing plants and R&D related projects.
- Use best practice electrical engineering methods, tools, and techniques to further improve ways of working
- Participate in close cooperation with other departments
- Specify resources for new projects and process activities
- Develop and optimize external engineering partnerships
- Own and manage the tools and software used in the department, including interfaces with external providers
- Contribute to the overall procurement activities and strategy for electrical and automation components used in the projects.
You will be a valued member of the Engineering leadership team referring to the Senior Director of Engineering , Trond Martin Bredesen. You will have people in Århus, Støvring, and Odense and your base will preferably be in Århus.
Experienced leader with technical skills and a people mindset
You are an emphatic and professional leader with several years of leadership experience - preferably from an international environment within the process- or energy sector. You have a degree in a relevant Engineering area and in-depth knowledge of Engineering functions and management of specialists.
Collaborating and people management come naturally to you, and you have experience with project management and project models/methods. You know how to navigate in a specialized, technical environment and create and maintain an overview so you can make the right priorities and decisions.
As a person, you enjoy responsibility and share your knowledge with the organization. You are structured, detailed oriented and calm, and well-balanced even in stressful situations where you have both impact and empathy enough to implement change processes in a sometimes-hectic environment.
